Public will have access starting from February 4
Mario and his gang will be getting an entire theme park dedicated to them very soon.
Universal Studios Japan shared announced their grand plans of opening a $580 million Nintendo theme park on February 4, 2021 at their facility in Osaka. Known as Super Nintendo World, the theme park will be built over the original Universal Studios Japan and will have all the features of an amusement park, except this time, it’s entirely Nintendo-based. There are also going to be shops where you can get all the merch of your favourite characters.
The rides
There are going to be three new experiences that’s going to be added to the park’s opening. Number one is called “Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge” and is expected to be a real-life version of the racing game. Visitors can expect to see some of the most iconic courses from the game’s history and battle other racers with Koopa shells.
Ride two is called “Yoshi’s Adventure” where you get to take a trip through Yoshi’s Island. It is something the kids will love more as you get to travel through the Mushroom Kingdom in search of three mysterious eggs. Last, but certainly not the least, is using power-up bands that lets you compete in various challenges inorder to win virtual coins and other items. Using the bands, you will be able to play a bunch of interactive games scattered on various parts of the park, which includes an adventure to help Princess Peach recover the Golden Mushroom and a final boss battle with Bowser Jr.
For visiting the park on its opening day, visitors will have to purchase an “Area Timed Entry Ticket” or “Area Timed Entry Ticket: Advance Booking” using the Universal Studios Japan app.
