Due to the phenomenal success of the show, an official merchandise line was opened, with video games like Roblox having their own version of Squid Game competitions.

Popular YouTuber MrBeast recreated the entire set of the game and hosted the games with a grand prize for the winner. Sarandos, who is also the Chief Content Officer for Netflix, announced the show’s second season and added that the Squid Game universe has just begun.

Lee Jung-jae, who starred as the show’s protagonist Seong Gi-hun, is returning for the second season after being the final winner in the first one. In the final scene, we see him returning to take down the organization for playing with human lives for sport. At this point, we cannot tell if he becomes the new Front Man, or participate in the games again, or become a new VIP. Either way, his story is not over and we can soon see it being connected to a Squid Game universe.
