Marvel Cheif Kevin Feige Confirms that Charlie Cox Will Continue to be the MCU’s Daredevil

The time has come

The devil is out of the bag. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has announced that Charlie Cox will indeed return as Daredevil in the MCU.

Feige spoke about the character during an interview with CinemaBlend, and said that he’s joining the big leagues. “If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil,” Feige said. However, the details are yet to been seen, concluded Feige.

The Netflix show

Netflix kicked off their MCU shows with Daredevil in 2015, and it soon came to be regarded as one of the best comic book adaptations. What was even more amazing was that Daredevil, along with the other Netflix MCU shows had dark, gritty, and violent themes. The series ran from 2015 to 2018 and was shown to happen in the aftermath of 2012’s The Avengers. Cox starred as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer and vigilante, alongside Deborah Ann Woll as Karen page, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, and many other brilliant actors.

It came as a big surprise when Netflix cancelled all the shows by 2019. It came to be known later that Netflix’s contract with Marvel had a clause that the rights to all these characters will remain with them until it reverts back to Marvel and Disney in two years. The rights for Daredevil was acquired by Disney a year ago.

Fans’ demands

Fans have been protesting in the years that followed for the Man Without Fear to return in some way. When the first trailer of Spider-Man: No Way Home came, Daredevil started trending like crazy. Many are still expecting him to come in the movie, while others believe he will make an appearance on any of the Disney+ shows.

Either way, it’s great to know that Charlie Cox return in his most iconic role.
