The WAW concert, as well as behind-the-scenes footage will be shown
MAMAMOO is getting their own movie!
The news was announced on November 26 by CGV, Korea’s largest film chain. The K-pop girl idol group will feature in a movie about their recent online concert “WAW” held on August 28th. The concert holds special meaning since it was to commemorate their 7th year as a group.
Movie details
The movie will be in a documentary style, and will have a runtime of 102 minutes. We will get to see live performances of 25 songs that the group performed, along with behind-the-scenes footage from the “WAW” concert. Audiences will get to see how the members – Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa prepare for each concert, right up to the time when they’re about to go on stage.
CGV members are really hoping for fans to get a large-scale feel as they watch in theatres. As Cho Jinho, the head of content creation at CGV states, the large screens, along with full surround sound, and sitting next to audiences who are big fans, will surely make the individual’s experience better. They have also planned collaborations with other artists in the industry and make movies, so that audiences get to understand the concert atmosphere in a movie theatre.
Recent MAMAMOO achievement
Hwasa recently released her second album Guilty Pleasure which reached the top in many iTunes charts. The songs that notably stood out from Guilty Pleasure were ‘FOMO,’ ‘I’m A 빛,’ and ‘Bless U.’
Meanwhile, MAMAMOO 2021 WAW Concert: The Movie premieres on December 3 and will be screened in 33 different theaters across South Korea.
