Check out the announcement trailers below
Crunchyroll and Fuji TV have been in the anime business for a long time, and was a big reason why the medium is so well-known across the world today. They are now teaming up to produce two new original titles, with interesting plots. Let’s read in detail below.
The animes
The first show is titled Estab Life: Great Escape. It comes from Goro Taniguchi, who is best known as the writer and director of the Code Geass series. The story takes place in the distant future in a fictionalized version of Tokyo. Human population had reached its peak and is now falling into decline. Afterwards, AI was developed to preserve humanity while also managing the ecosystem.
Genetic engineering soon came to be, and new species of humans like beast folk and magical beings were born. AI soon came to be in charge of everyone. A sequel movie called Estab-Life Revengers’ Road was also announced, with Taniguchi set to write and direct.
The second show is called Ooyukiumi no Kaina, and it comes from Tsutomu Nihei, the creator of King of Sidonia and Blame. It tells the story of Kaina and Liliha, two people from two different worlds who go on an important mission to save their homes. Nothing further has been discussed, and the show is still in its early phase.
Release date and trailer
Estab Life will start airing from April 2022, and an exact release date will be announced in the coming months by Crunchyroll. Meanwhile, Ooyukiumi no Kaina is set to release in January 2023. Crunchyroll will handle all streaming services outside Asia.
