Round 3 is almost here
While it is not out officially, we got to see the poster for Michael B. Jordan-starrer Creed III. The latest installment for the Rocky spinoff movie shows Jordan’s Adonis “Donnie” Creed taking on a boxer played by Jonathan Majors. Let’s read in detail below.
The Road to Creed III
In Creed II, we got to see Donnie face off against Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu). Viktor is the son of Russian heavyweight Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), the man responsible for Donnie’s father Appollo Creed’s (Carl Weathers) death. The formula was similar to previous Rocky movies, and showed Donnie pushing himself to his breaking point to beat Viktor and attain closure in a way.
There is little information about Creed III, but seeing Majors, a very compelling actor as the main opponent, fans will be in for a treat. Since the poster is already out at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, we can expect MGM to unveil it officially in the coming weeks.
Cast Details
Creed III is going to be the first movie that will not feature Stallone as Rocky. In the first movie, we see him coming out of retirement to personally train the son of his rival-turned-friend. In return, Donnie looks after Rocky, who is suffering from blood cancer. Stallone showed up for the sequel as well, but it seemed justified for him to be there as Donnie brought a decades-old feud to an end. While he is not returning, Stallone is still on board as a producer. Michael B. Jordan himself will be the director, and the script will be written by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin.
The movie additionally stars Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, and Phylicia Rashad. Creed III will hit theatres on November 23, 2022.
