Hubie Halloween: Adam Sandler just Know How to make his Work Stand Apart

Adam Sandler does what he does best in this Halloween themed laugh riot

Every Adam Sandler fan knows that the actor excels in a special brand of comedy and doesn’t sway from it. He occasionally stars in movies that are surprising, but just as entertaining, such as this year’s Uncut Gems. However, his Netflix movie Hubie Halloween contains all the classic Sandler jokes, the immature humour, weird voices and his Hollywood buddies.

Story and verdict

Netflix

Hubie Halloween takes us to Salem, Massachusetts, where the whole town is preparing for the festival of jack-o’-lanterns and trick or treating. Sandler plays Hubie, a man who lives with his mom, and is a community volunteer who needs to make sure all the residents have a safe holiday. So as everyone else is enjoying, yes out there on his bicycle, armed with his sash that shows he’s a volunteer as well as a Swiss-knife looking thermos (which contains everything from a fire extinguisher to a torch) to make sure everyone stays out of trouble.

Of course things don’t go well as a patient escapes from a nearby asylum and the townspeople that had been mean to Hubie (which is pretty much everyone) starts to vanish. It’s up to him to get to the bottom of this mystery.

The movie is a fun ride and contains all the Adam Sandler movie regulars such as Kevin James as the crybaby policeman Steve Downey, Steve Buscemi as Hubie’s creepy neighbour Walter Lambert, Rob Schneider as his classmate and the aforementioned asylum escapee, and Shaquille O’Neal as DJ Aurora. Julie Bowen plays Violet, Hubie’s crush since second grade.

The movie is a pleasant watch which you can enjoy from the comforts of home, and not having to risk going to the nearest theatre.
