Who can forget one of 2018’s biggest collabs between international stars?
It’s been a decade since BTS happened. Based in Seoul, South Korea, the popular boy band is currently known throughout the world and has a massive fan following from every country. They formed during their teenage years under Big Hit Entertainment and released their first album “2 Cool 4 Skool” in 2013. The second album, “Wings” became their first album to seek one million copies in South Korea.
Soon, the band became the first ever Korean group to make it into to the Billboard 200 with their album “Love Yourself: Tear” in 2018. The reason for getting such a massive following called the ARMY, is that the members share a great bond with each other and their songs are empowering as well. They have made such a big impact in the western music industry that a lot of artists are expressing their desire to collaborate with them. They have already teamed up with Nicki Minaj in 2018. Idol Version 2
This was the time when Minaj was tangled in yet another controversy, so a collaboration with BTS won her some healthy fan love from the ARMY. The fanbase always makes sure to shower all their love to anyone their idols collaborate with or mention during interviews, so this was needed for Minaj. In August 2018, the rapper surprised everyone when she did a rap verse for BTS’s song “Idol,” which was part of their new album “Love Yourself: Answer.”
Minaj also tweeted the news out, saying, “Uh!! What’s good KOREA?!” This of course, freaked out the fanbases of both parties and they started speculating if BTS has worked with other artists as well. There were also rumours of her showing up to BTS’s New York concert as part of the “Love Yourself” world tour.
