The Beast Coast show that was set to be held in Michigan on Sunday has been called off. The reason behind this is the mass shooting threats that were received by the police before the onset of the show. The show was supposed to get staged at 7 p.m.
According to the threats, the shooting was supposed to take place at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Department is taking care of the related investigations. The police received not one, but two threats. The promotion company declared a cancellation of the event following the threats. The tickets thus bought will be refunded. The Auburn Hills and Sterling Heights police departments received the phone calls on Sunday itself. Sheriff Anthony Wickersham commented that the thing is going on recently in today’s world and they have to take each threat seriously. They were going to put additional deputies and undercover officers in and around the venue, and later this afternoon the event was canceled.
Beast Coast is a Hip-hop band of American origin (Brooklyn, New York). It is instead a supergroup than an ordinary and as each of its members are successful solo artists. The group was formed in 2012 with the members of Flatbush, Pro Era, Zombies, and The Underachievers. Since then, they have been on several musical tours. Their debut album as a group was released on 24th of May 2019, named ‘Escape from New York.’
Extra security forces are being planned for the next few shows at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre.
After the mass shooting that took place at El Paso Texas and Dayton, Ohio a few weeks before, such threats cannot be given up on the investigation. As Sheriff Wickersham quoted it rightly that in today’s world, it is better to be safe than sorry.
