Suits by Aaron Korsh was an American legal drama television series. The series premiered on June 23, 2011, on the USA Network, and is produced by Universal Cable Production. It is the network’s longest-running original series in terms of seasons and episodes. It is set at a fictional law firm in New York City.
The series officially came to an end on after nine seasons on September 25th with an episode revolving around the wedding of Louis (Rick Hoffman) and Sheila (Rachael Harris), as well as another surprise wedding that fans have been waiting years to happen. However, the most notable moment came when the show made another joke about former cast member Meghan Markle‘s royal status by not-so-subtly poking fun at her husband, Prince Harry.
In the scene, Louis prepares to walk down the aisle and is dressed in quite the formal getup for his special day. This prompts Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) to make a cheeky comment about his friend’s over-the-top attire.
“Wait a second. Are you wearing a morning coat?” Harvey asked. Louis replied, “Of course I’m wearing a morning coat. Frankly, I’m disappointed you’re not.”
Then, Harvey jokingly tells him, “Louis, you’re not the prince of England.” Markle, who played paralegal-turned-lawyer Rachel Zane for seven seasons, was also featured in the finale’s tribute montage.
This isn’t the first time the show paid homage to the Duchess of Sussex Patrick J. Adams gave her a shout-out when his character, Mike, was asked how Rachel was doing in Seattle after they relocated. Creator Aaron Korsh recently revealed why he didn’t invite Markle back for the final episode of the series, explaining that he wanted to “respect her new life.”
