Alex Trebek, the Canadian-American game show host of Jeopardy!, is trying his best to live out the remaining of his life as normal as he could. Since being diagnosed with cancer Trebek has tried to uphold an optimistic approach to life.
Trebek trying to live a normal life
Trebek was photographed outside his home taking out the trash and recyclables last month on the 22nd in Los Angeles. The seventy-nine-year-old game show host was wearing blue jeans, a sweatshirt, and a baseball cap as he did the household chores.
Trebek had revealed the news about his illness back in March 2019. He is suffering from stage IV pancreatic cancer. He stated that along with cancer he is also dealing with a lot of pain and depression. He said that when he got to know about his cancer he was really down on himself.
The game show host told Good Morning America that he did not realise how imperfect and fallible everyone is in their own way. He said that he can’t explain it properly and that he just experiences it. He has accepted it as a part of who he is and he just keeps going.
What has he planned for the end?
Trebek said that he realised that an end will come for him just for like everyone else and the thought of dying does not frighten him any more. He also recently said that he will be retiring from Jeopardy! as a host, the show which he hosted meticulously from the year 1984.
He said that at his final episode at Jeopardy! he will ask the director for thirty seconds in the end and he will say his goodbyes to his fans and his viewers. He will also say in those last seconds that he doesn’t know who will be replacing him as the host.
Trebek’s final words to his fans would be: “And until we meet again, God bless you and goodbye.”
