In an Instagram post, the couple announced their decision to separate
Former stars of Extreme Weight Loss Chris Powell and Heidi Powell have decided to part ways after ten years of marriage. In an Instagram post shared on Friday, Chris revealed that while the news might be shocking to their fans, they had made the decision after many months of trying to bring about the “best dynamic” for their family.
The two got married in 2010 and have two children, son Cash, 8 and daughter Ruby, 6.
They acknowledged that while the breakup has indeed been causing a great sense of sadness, they are hopeful for the future, and will be looking forward to the next chapter of their lives. Their decision to stay as a family haven’t changed, which includes Heidi’s two kids from her previous marriage.
But he made sure to let everyone know that what they have is more than just a marriage, and they consider what they have as a “true and beautiful life partnership.” They have also requested for everyone to give their children the privacy they need during such a time.
The announcement seemed more shocking as Chris, 42, had just shared a loving post about his wife, 38, on Mother’s Day and talked about how she was responsible for their kids turning out to be model human beings.
The couple had appeared on ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss as hosts and trainers while the show aired between 2011 and 2015. Aside from that, they had also written numerous books and have their own fitness app called TRANSFORM. They revealed during an interview that one of their aims is to “help everyone feel they can do anything they set their minds to.”
