Hollywood bid goodbye to many celebrities this year. John Shelton Clarke, 88-years-old, is another of these celebrities who have bi their farewells this year.
John “Jack” Shelton Clarke started earning recognition and won over fans after playing the character of Mickey Horton in the show “Days of Our Lives”.
John Clarke had previously suffered a heart stroke in the year 2007 and his health has been declining ever since and started showing severe conditions over the past few years.
According to reports from the actor’s representative’s statements to the Deadline on Monday, he stated that John Clarke passed away after facing few complications of pneumonia on 16th October in Laguna Beach.
The veteran actor, John Clarke has worked in theater, television shows and in the film industry. But John Clarke started growing his fan base after appearing for about 39 years in NBC’s long-run series “Days of Our Lives”.
In addition to appearing in the daytime series, John Clarke also worked for about two year as he co-starred with Leslie Nielsen on ABC’s The New Breed and even had guest roles on “Wanted Dead or Alive”, “Gun Smoke”, “The FBI”, “Maverick”, “The Law and Mrs. Jones”, “Have Gun Will Travel”, “Sugarfoot”, “Twilight Zone”, “Death Valley Days” and many others.
John Clarke appeared in various motion pictures including “Burma Patrol”, “Nuremburg”, “The Satan Bug”, “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad World”, and “Man Missing”.
Coming to his career in theaters, John Clarke has performed in about 75 plays as the resident leading man at the Tenthouse Theater located in Chicago. He was the resident leading man for one complete season at the Palm Springs Playhouse and then switched to musical theater and from there on played many leading roles at the Sacramento Music Circus.
John Clarke has also earned an Emmy for Lifetime Achievement.
