The actor, known for her comic roles showed her capability of handling serious moments in the Netflix dark comedy

Last year, we got to see comic actor Christina Applegate show her serious side in season one of Netflix’s Dead to Me, which is a black comedy about a budding friendship which developed amid a threatening secret. Viewers definitely enjoyed the new version they saw of the actor, who is a funny person in the show as well, but is exploring the grim facets of herself, while still not letting go of her iconic sense of humour.

Jen’s return

Season two of Dead to Me looks even darker than the first one and we will see Applegate return on May 8. We are a ways off after getting to know Southern California realtor Jen, whose story began after the death of her husband, who was killed in an unsolved hit-and-run. The show started off with the pain of loss, then quickly became a tense thriller, which gets even more intense in Season 2.

The next part will contain spoilers so please be warned. Towards the end of season 1, we get to know that Jen’s new friend Judy, played by Linda Cardellini was responsible for her husband’s death. After learning that, Jen responded to it by killing Judy’s cruel one-time fiancé Steve, played by James Marsden, while in a fit of rage.

Season two will focus on covering up the crime, and will put the already strained bond between the two desperate women to the ultimate test. They will constantly be on the run and each episode will follow their trend of ending in a major cliffhanger. Season two promises to be just as fast paced as the first one and will be keeping audiences hooked.
