This comes after Gomez shared that she was considering retiring
Cardi B doesn’t seem to be taking the news of Selena Gomez retiring from music very well.
The ‘It Ain’t Me’ singer, whose first Spanish-language EP came out on Friday, said that she was considering stepping away from music during an interview for Vogue‘s April cover. From what she said, it’s clear that the comments of trolls online have been getting to her. She said that it’s hard to keep doing music when people don’t necessarily take you seriously. “I’ve had moments where I’ve been like, ‘What’s the point? Why do I keep doing this?” She said that she felt like ‘Lose You to Love Me’ was the best song she’s ever released, but for some people, it still wasn’t enough.
Cardi’s tweet
Gomez added that she thinks a lot of people still enjoy her music, and for that she’s thankful. “But I think the next time I do an album it’ll be different. I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire from music,” she said.
Gomez later clarified that she wants to spend more time producing and acting, but Cardi B came to Twitter to voice her displeasure, saying she doesn’t think Selena should retire, and that she makes good music and her fans love her. She then added that Selena needs one more era, an edgy one that no one has ever seen before and she would love to give her some ideas.
Support for Selena
Aside from Cardi, Desus Nice of Desus & Mero also lent support saying her 2021 song ‘Baila Conmigo’ is his joint.
Cardi continued in a different tweet that Selena should leave if she wants to leave, but not because of “these f***era.”
