Great Pretender : The Netfix Anime to Release Exclusively in Japan for Now

Wit Studio, the official website for Great Pretender, the anime series has started to stream a promotional video for the series. According to this promo, the series will be premiered on Netflix,in Japan on June-2.

Netflix has plans to stream the anime worldwide, but first streaming will be exclusively for Japan. The anime will have a total number of 23 episodes. The aniime will also be premiered on Fuji tv by July 8.

Hiro Kaburagi, who is famous for directing Hozuki’s Coolheadedness, My Little Monster,91 days etc, is the director of the anime. The script is written by Ryota Kosawa. Yutaka Yamada is the composer of the music. The anime is produced by Maiko Okada.

 

Cast

The cast of the anime includes, Chiaki Kobayashi as Makoto  “Edamame” Edamura, Junichi Suwabe as Laurent Thierry, Natsumi Fujiwara as Abigail “Aby” Jones,  Mie Sonozaki as Paula Dickins,

Makoto “Edamame” Edamura, is supposed to be the biggest swindler in Japan. He earns his living by running cons on travellers.

Laurent Thierry, is a French man who is double smart than Edamura. Aby Jones is another conwoman proud of her fine body. Paula Dickins, is a very  talented FBI agent . Her aim is to trap Laurent Thierry, and for this she arrives in Los Angeles.

Plot

The anime Great Pretender will be comedy drama , with the theme ‘credit fraud.’ Japan’s greatest swindler, Makoto Edamura and his partner Kudo, try to trick a Frenchman in Asakusa. But, instead they get trapped. The man whom they tried to trick, is a Frenchman, Laurent Thierry, who has a higher level of confidence and who controls  mafias.

Now Edamura don’t know what is awaiting him, after he has involved in Frenchman’s dirty jobs.
