The premiere times have changed at the fan screenings as well
Obi-Wan Kenobi is arriving early! Well, not by entire days or anything, but by a number of hours. Disney + and the Star Wars Twitter account have stated on Thursday that the first two episodes will be available to stream earlier. Let’s see hwat they are below.
New Timings For Obi-Wan Kenobi
Viewers of the West Coast will be able to see Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen on May 27 at 9 pm PT. The first two episodes will be released together. Fans who attended the Star Wars Celebration convention in Anaheim, California also got to see a premiere screening at 7 pm PT.
McGregor’s return as the legendary Jedi had been in the works for years, and Obi-Wan Kenobi was meant to have his own solo movie initially. However, once Solo: A Star Wars Story failed, and the other movies following The Force Awakens did not perform well, Lucasfilm drew up new plans. This was the time when Disney+ came around and The Mandalorian started bringing excitement back into the Star Wars universe. It’s success ensured that Obi-Wan Kenobi will also be more successful in a longer, more detailed story.
The Story
What is the time period for Obi-Wan’s solo adventure? Well, it takes place roughly 10 years after 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Obi-Wan is currently in exile on Tatooine. When Order 66 put an end to all Jedi activities, Obi-Wan became a wanted fugitive, and an Inquisitor named Reva Sevander (Moses Ingram) was sent on his tail. He also has to worry about Darth Vader, and we can expect more fights between the two. The series additionally stars Joel Edgerton, Indira Varma, Kumail Nanjiani, Bonnie Piesse, Rupert Friend, Sung Kang, O’Shea Jackson Jr, Maya Erskine, Benny Safdie, and Simone Kessell.
