The new season will be titled True Detective: Night Country
Season 3 of highly acclaimed crime thriller series True Detective wrapped up more than three years ago. It reclaimed the show’s glory as season 2 was not able to compete with the massive season 1. And now, we have received news on the fourth season. True Detective: Night Country, the fourth season, will have Jodie Foster as one of the main leads. Let’s read more in detail.
About True Detective: Night Country
Season 4 of the Emmy-nominated series will take place in Ennis, Alaska. Foster will star as Detective Liz Danvers alongside Detective Evangeline Navarro. Similar to other seasons, the two detectives have to work together to solve disappearances in their town, and deal with their inner darkness at the same time. Time is of the essence, and the two detectives have to dig up something solid before the case goes cold. Foster’s casting as a detective comes as great news, as she rose to the spotlight after starring in hit classic Silence of the Lambs. Her role in Taxi Driver also won her great acclaim.
Cast and Crew
The season was announced in march, and will be developed by Barry Jenkins and Issa López. López will also be a writer, executive producer, and director on the show. Foster will also be an executive producer. Alan Page Arriaga will be on board as a co-writer and executive producer. Other exec producers include Jenkins, Adele Romanski, Mark Ceyrak, series creator Nic Pizzolatto, producer Joji Fukunaga, and previous stars, Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
We do not have a release date set for True Detective season 4. It is expected to roll out sometime next year.
