Our Beloved Summer brings in ‘V’ to make it more Special!
BTS member Kim Tae-hyung, better known as V, will be featured in the soundtrack of a new romantic comedy drama. The news was confirmed on November 25, and the drama, named Our Beloved Summer, will star V’s close friend Choi Woo Shik.
The story & team
Our Beloved Summer is a coming-of-age story about a couple that had broken up but are forced to reunite when a documentary from their high school that was shot a decade back, goes viral. They had vowed to never meet again after the split, but coming together in front of the cameras forces them to address their complicated feelings, and the growth they had went through.
The series is Studio N’s first original series, directed by Kim Yoon-jin and screenplay by Lee Na-eun. It stars Choi Woo SHik, Kim Da Mi, Kim Sung Cheol, and Roh Jeong Eui.
Our Beloved Summer will premier on SBS TV in Korea on December 6, and will air on Mondays and Tuesdays at 22:00, KST. For international audiences, it will be available on Netflix.
V’s friendship
It is not common for idols to be friends with drama or movie actors. Choi Woo Shik had known V for quite some time, and it can be through him that they got the BTS member to sing for the drama’s OST. The music will be composed by Nam Hye Seung, who is known for his work on dramas like Goblin, Crash Landing on You, and It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. The music director admitted that he had V in mind while the song was being planned.
Meanwhile, V also performed for his other friend Park Seo Joon’s drama Itaewon Class, on a song called ‘Sweet Night.’ Park Seo Joon and Choi Woo Shik are also good friends, with the former doing a cameo on the latter’s Oscar-winning film, Parasite.
