Timothy Olyphant is the newest addition in Daisy Jones & The Six
Amazon Studios has just roped in Timothy Olyphant for their rock musical drama, Daisy Jones & The Six.
As per the studio, the Justified actor will play Rod, the road manager of the Dunne Brothers band, and the person who got them to move to Los Angeles and pick out a new name. He also played an integral part in resolving the group’s conflicts so that they wouldn’t split up.
Cast and crew:
Daisy Jones & The Six was announced a year ago, with casting news following. Riley Keough will star as Daisy Jones, Sam Claflin plays Billy Dunne, and Will Harrison plays Graham Dunne. Other stars include Camila Morrone, Josh Witehouse, Suki Waterhouse, Nabiya Be, Sebastian Chacon, and Tom Wright. And Timothy Olyphant is the latest name in the list.
Will Graham and Scott Neustadter will be joint showrunners. Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter will produce the series under her production house Hello Sunshine. Brad Mendelsohn will produce under his banner Circle of Confusion, along with Taylor Jenkins Reid, the author of the novel from which the story is inspired. The first five episodes of the 12-episode series will be directed and executive produced by James Ponsoldt.
Daisy Jones & The Six is based on the bestselling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid. It follows a fictional rock band set in the ’70s, and the ups and downs they face. Amazon will be presenting the series in a documentary style, in order to capture the creativity and erraticism of the wild era.
The story begins with the band rising in the LA music scene, then becoming one of the most legendary bands in the world, but splitting up when they reached their peak. The story will predominantly focus on the reasons behind their split.
Timothy Olyphant will be seen next in National Champions, Havoc, and an untitled production by David O. Russell.
