A prequel story showing where it all began
The Irregular at Magic High School has released a trailer and announced the release date of their next season – titled The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc. The announcement comes in celebration of the light novel’s 10th anniversary.
The story
The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc was described as the third season, but currently it is treated more as a spin-off. The Reminiscence storyline is covered in the 8th volume of the light novel. The story takes place three years before the beginning of the main story. The story is told from Miyuki’s perspective, and starts off with showing how being in her older brother’s presence always made her uncomfortable. The rest of her wealthy family always treated him as a servant, including their mother Miya, despite him being appointed as Miyuki’s personal protector, or Guardian. But during a trip to Okinawa, unexpected dangers happen that forever affects their relationship as siblings.
We get to see throughout the series how Miyuki decides to stay by her brother’s side for the rest of her life.
