Bryce Dallas Howard was underpaid for Jurassic World?

Bryce Dallas Howard joined Chris Pratt in the 2015 remake of the 1993 action-adventure dinosaur movie Jurassic Park as his co-lead. The actress later disclosed that her earnings from “Jurassic World” were low than they had been previously estimated during the signing.

According to Howard, there is no truth to allegations that she received $2 million less than Pratt for the 2018 sequel. She was “at a big disadvantage” when she agreed to be a part of the movie trilogy, according to Howard.

Bryce Dallas Howard, the star of “Jurassic World,” exclusively disclosed to Insider that she received “so much less” compensation for the film franchise than her co-star Chris Pratt. The co-leads in each of the three “Jurassic World” films were Pratt and Howard. However, according to a 2018 Variety article, Howard received $2 million less in compensation than Pratt for the second film, “Fallen Kingdom,” which made $8 million while Pratt earned $10 million.

In an interview with Insider to celebrate the arrival of “Jurassic World Dominion” for home entertainment, Howard claimed that the wage difference between her and Pratt was actually more.

According to Bryce Dallas Howard, who spoke exclusively with Insider, “the stories were so interesting because I was paid so much less than the reports even indicated, so much less.” She elaborated that she was at a significant disadvantage when she first began negotiating for “Jurassic” because it was 2014 and a whole different world. Unfortunately, signing up for three movies is required, so her deals were sealed.

Howard said that she talked to Pratt about the pay difference, and he fought for the actor to get paid equally on other franchise chances that weren’t already legally required, including offshoot video games and theme park rides.

In “Jurassic World Dominion,” Bryce Dallas Howard portrays Claire Dearing. She further that What she would say is that Chris and her have talked about it, and if there was a chance to make progress on issues that hadn’t already been agreed upon, such as a game or a ride, he actually told her that they wouldn’t have to do anything as he will conduct all of the negotiations. “You don’t need to worry about this, Bryce; we’re going to get paid the same. “explained Howard

The actor kept going that Chris Prat has her utmost admiration for doing it. She genuinely does, as she received higher compensation for work of that nature than she ever did on the film.

Most definitely, that is a noble thing to do. Bryce Dallas Howard shouldn’t have had to struggle for equal compensation in the first place, though. Unfortunately, the inherent pay disparity between male and female co-stars is still a problem in Hollywood.

The original Jurassic Park cast members Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill all made appearances in Jurassic World Dominion. But many criticized the movie for wasting this reunion after it received negative reviews.

The problem of compensation disparities in Hollywood has gained increased public attention in recent years. The “Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo said to Variety in 2019 that she nearly left the program after learning that Patrick Dempsey was earning nearly twice as much as she did at the beginning of the show.

Following the revelation that her “All the Money in the World” co-star Mark Wahlberg made $1.5 million for reshoots for the film but she only received $1,000, Michelle Williams claimed she felt “paralyzed in sentiments of futility.”

On August 16, “Jurassic World Dominion” will be accessible for digital rentals and purchases on Blu-ray and DVD.
