The docuseries will consist of six episodes
Singer and actress Selena Gomez is getting painfully honest about her mental health struggles for Apple TV+’s upcoming documentary, Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me.
Let’s read in detail about what the series will cover.
About Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me
The docuseries will be directed by Madonna: Truth or Dare fame Alek Keshishian and will cover the singer’s life in the past six years. As many know, the Grammy-nominated singer had many physical and mental trials during this period. Gomez was diagnosed with lupus, followed by depression and anxiety. Some very public relationships and break-ups contributed to that. The teaser shows her visiting medical professionals as well as friends to help make herself better.
The trailer opens with her saying, “Just be who you are, Selena. No one cares about what you’re doing,” as she prepares herself. She goes on to say that she is okay with where she is, and is grateful to be alive. The trailer was released on October 10, which is World Mental Health Day. It goes on to show her meeting old friends, going on a safari, and bearing her heart out to close ones. From the two-minute trailer, it’s clear that Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me will be a tearful journey.

In an interview with Variety, Keshinian said that he had no interest in making a traditional pop documentary. Both he and Selena were in agreement that it should be authentic, and her raw vulnerability really helped him make it better. He now considers it a six-year labor of love.
