English Comedian, Ricky Dene Gervais hosted the 77th edition of Golden Globe Awards. He is renown for creating, writing and acting in the British television series The Office. Talking of awards, he has seven BAFTAs, five British Comedy Awards, two Emmy’s and three Golden Globe Awards. He is also the winner of Rose d’Or twice.
Ricky Gervais hosted the Golden Globe awards for the fifth time and maybe the last time as well. All celebs arrived in couture gowns and impressive jewelry. He welcomed them with his one-liner, “Let’s go out with a bang, let’s have a laugh at your expense, shall we?”.
He commenced with speaking on the launching of Apple’s streaming service coming this year. This was enough to worry Tim Cook, CEO, Apple Inc.
He spoke on the arrival of Apple in the world of TV. Apple entered the game with The Morning Show. It is a drama focussing on dignity and doing the right thing. The creator of the show is a company that runs sweatshops in China.
After this, Ricky pointed out the actors, directors, and writers present there. He said that they talk about being awake. The companies they work for are unbelievable, like Apple, Amazon, and Disney. Even if ISIS will initiate its streaming services, they will contact their agents.
Anyhow, Ricky continued his resentment. He said that those who will win the award should not make a political speech from there. They should come up here, accept their award, thank their agent and their God, and before he could complete, his mic was muted.
