Will the game be fully able to tap into the potential of the next-gen consoles?
If recent reports are to be believed, Red Dead Redemption 2 is getting the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S treatment! Yes, the massively-successful Rockstar Games title can be played on the new consoles thanks to backward compatibility, but as players can see, it cannot fully take advantage of what the consoles have to offer. Now, let’s take a look at what’s in store for the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Insider Details
Information about the Red Dead Redemption 2 remaster was given by a Twitter user named Tez2, a reputed Rockstar Games insider. The person said that the game will be heading to both PS5 and Xbox Series X “at some point down the road.” It also notes that if a remaster is to come, it will be given via an update for those who already own the game on PS4 and Xbox One. That means they will likely not have to pay to get it.
As for when the update comes, Tez2 said that they have no idea when it will come, but by the looks of it, Rockstar Games seems to be working on it currently.
The Success of Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 is as massively popular as Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series, if not more. The game has already sold tens of millions of copies around the world, and Rockstar is smartly making more use of it. The reason why the remaster is highly likely to happen is because Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive had teased last year that they will be releasing multiple remasters and ports in the near future.
