Up-and-coming rapper JayDaYoungan was shot to death on Wednesday night outside his home in Louisiana. He was 24.

The rapper, known for hit songs like “23 Island” and “Elimination” was accompanied by a relative named Kenyatta Scott Sr., as reported by Bogalusa Police to the New York Post. Let’s read in detail.

JayDaYoungan, whose real name is Javorius Tykies Scott, was shot just before 6 pm and was immediately rushed to the hospital in critical condition along with his relative. His relative is currently in stable condition. The police added that it was a very fluid situation and that their officers are diligently working to find the criminals.

The officers said that after the rapper was shot, another shooting happened in 30 minutes. They believe that these cases might be linked. The rapper’s family details are mostly unknown, but according to an Instagram post, he has a young son.

As for his career, Javorius signed on to Atlantic Records in 2017, and is believed to have made his start with tracks like “Spinning” and “Taking Off”. The rapper had been in jail a month ago for gun-related charges. Back in October 2021, he was caught carrying a pistol, faced assault charges in Texas, and was also found to be possessing Oxycodone. He was arrested in September 2021 on suspicion of being an accessory to a second-degree murder case.
