Nier: Automata Anime Shares New Teaser and Voice Cast Additions

Nier: Automata has released a new trailer, releasing further details for the upcoming anime adaptation. Some new key additions were included, which gamers are familiar with. The Nier: Automata video game skyrocketed the franchise, and it was only a matter of time before it came into other mediums.

The new trailer has revealed a release date, as well as the voice cast of Nier: Automata. Fans will be pleased to know that some of them are the same actors from the video games. Chiaki Kano will return as Commander and will join Keiko Isobe as Operator 60 and Meari Hatsumi as Operator 210. Commander is the only character shown in the trailer. From the looks of it, we can expect more brief character trailers, so that fans or newcomers can briefly acquaint themselves with the show.

Seeing as the show, titled Nier: Automata Ver1.1a will have an original story, as stated by creator Yoko Taro, we can expect new and old characters to appear.

The Story

The anime will tell the story of androids 2B, 9S, and A2 as they fight to gain power in the dystopian, machine-run hell that they’re forced to live in. Humanity has been driven away, and machines, far superior in strength and intellect, have taken over. To reclaim their lost homes, humans hatch a last-ditch plan of sending a force of android soldiers to reclaim the stolen lands from the invaders. The war between the machines and androids will now commence, resulting in a lost truth of the world resurfacing.

Nier: Automata will release in January 2023. Look forward to it.
