Harry Styles Completes Legendary 15-Show Run at Madison Square Garden, Banner Raised To Mark Occassion

Harry Styles becomes the third musical artist to get a banner raised

Harry Styles is at a career high right now. The singer just accomplished a major milestone by performing 15 nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden, and the final night blowout will be one for the books. To commemorate the event, the Garden raised a banner to the rafters to honor the British singer who set a record for the 15 sold-out shows. The performance was part of the “Love on Tour” residency he started on August 20.

The final night during Harry Styles’ residency was truly a night of celebrations. The Garden made sure each seat had its own boa, thereby marking the whole arena as Harry’s House. Harry received his banner from Gayle King in a surprise ceremony during the encore following “Sign of the Times,” his final song of the night. King told the star that they didn’t want to say goodnight to him. Then Styles watches in silent awe as the banner is slowly hoisted, much to the excitement of the crowd.

Harry Styles proceeded to weep and took a tissue from a fan near the catwalk. With a shaky voice, he told the fans that any time they come to Madison Square Garden and see the banner, they must remember that it’s because of them. “That is ours,” he added. He also said that he will come back and look at it after everyone has gone.

Harry Styles follows behind Billy Joel, who has received the first two of them. One of them was for his 129 overall shows at Garden, while the second was for the 83 shows of his long-running monthly residency. Joel even came during Styles’ performance, saying he would like to thank Harry for taking a night off.
