Opposites react
Every element will be displayed in Disney’s next animated movie, Elemental. The film has been made by Pixar Animation Studio and takes viewers on a magical ride to a city where the citizens are some sort of element or material found in nature. But it will primarily focus on the dynamic between Ember, a being of fire, and wade, a being of water. Let’s read in detail.
About Elemental
The teaser was a minute and a half, but it showed us what we needed to know about Elemental. We see Element city, a vibrant place where all elements coexist, and we see the initial meeting of lead pair Ember and Wade. And the two could not be more different. Ember, since she is made of fire, is tough, quick-witting, and has a fiery personality, while Wade, who is made of water, is calm, fun, and goes with the flow. While the differences are many, Ember learns through Wade that they still have common grounds to stand on and her worldview changes in the process.
The world that the movie has built is also refreshing to see. The teaser opens on a hooded Ember as she waits for the train. As the camera follows her, we see the other passengers, all made up of various elements, and how even by accident, they complement each other. In the final few seconds, Ember’s headphones get knocked off, and as she reaches to get it, her hand meets another one – her soon-to-be friend Wade.
Release Date
Elemental comes from Peter Sohn, who had previously directed The Good Dinosaur. The lead cast includes Leah Louis as Ember and Mamoudou Athie as Wade.
Elemental is due out in theaters on June 16, 2023. Check out the teaser trailer below.
