Billie Eilish and Kanye West to Host Coachella Festival in 2022; Travis Scott Walks Out

The big music festival is currently set for April

Coachella was greatly delayed this year due to the Omicron variant of the coronavirus. However, we have received some updates regarding the performances. Billie Eilish and Kanye West are now the headliners, according to a report by Variety. Additionally, Swedish House Mafia is also returning, although it is unclear if they will be headliners as well.

West had previously headlined in 2011, Billie Eilish in 2019, and SHM had last performed in 2012.

Despite the pandemic, the festival has already sold out its 125,000 per-day ticket, and the disturbing factor of more than 100,000 people travelling and assembling at one location might give the coronavirus free real estate to spread.

The festival is now set for April 15 to 17, and April 22 to 24 at the usual location of the Empire Polo Ground in Indio, California. The tickets are sold out, but the festival is still at risk of being postponed to another date if the virus spreads further. However, it seems like they won’t be changing the dates for the 21st Festival as plans are moving on at full speed, especially after concerts like the Lollapalooza and Rolling Loud were held without any major disruptions.

The Astroworld tragedy in November during Travis Scott‘s performance must make the organizers extra wary about what happens when an artists overly excites a mob, that might be drunk in the first place.

The original headliners for this year were meant to be Frank Ocean, Travis Scott, and Rage Against the Machine, but things have changed. Ocean has changed his appearance to next year, Scott was removed due to the Astroworld in November, Rage has backed off due to some unknown reason.

Billie Eilish and Kanye West are two big stars people looking forward to in the festival.
