Girl group APRIL has officially broken up

Over the years, we have watched many bands break up including Daft Punk, One Direction and so on. These breakups have devastated the fans for sure, but it seems the pain isn’t ending anytime soon.

We have a heart-breaking news for the K-Pop fans. South Korean girl group APRIL has officially broken up according to the latest statement released by DSP Media.

DSP Media released a statement revealing the news

APRIL’s agency DSP Media released a statement confirming the breakup of the band. The statement further said that the agency and the band members had a long duration of discussion and debate. After that, they reached to a final decision that the group will disband and all members will go their own separate ways.

The agency asked lots of best wishes and support from the fans for the new journey the band members are going to start on in their lives. DSP Media further thanked the fans and the audience for offering their support to the group for the last six years.

Why did APRIL break up?

There have been many speculations regarding the reason behind the disbanding. And while we will never know the exact reason, we can still get an approximate idea.

The South Korean girl band included 6 members- Yena, Rachel, Chaewon, Chaekyung,  Naeun and Jinsol.

During February 2021, there was a major controversy regarding the band when one of the former members- Lee Hyun-Joo revealed something unexpected.

The Goedam star accused her bandmates of bullying and assaulting her during their performance. The band faced some major backlash due to this revelation. The members denied the claims and had an argument with Hyun-Joo over social media, but the band couldn’t rise back again.

APRIL made their debut in 2015 with their first album “Dreaming” and the hit single “Dream Candy”. The latest comeback for the band was their album “Hello Summer” in  July 2020.
