Andrew Garfield Breaks Silence on Spider-Man: No Way Home, Gives New Details

There was no Photoshop, Andrew Garfield clarifies

After almost a year in denial, Andrew Garfield has finally let the cat out of the bag and admitted about his secret role. It was probably the worst-kept secret in Hollywood history and just about everyone knew who all will appear. Tom Holland did a better job than before in keeping quiet about spoilers, but Andrew, who had multiple projects set for release, kept being asked about Spider-Man throughout the interviews. While he did a good job trying to keep a secret, it became more and more obvious that he, along with Tobey Maguire, will reprise their iconic roles.

About his role

Spider-Man
Sony/Marvel Studios

In an interview with Variety, Andrew Garfield broke his silence. He started by saying how grateful he was that he got to tie up some loose ends for his version of Peter Parker. He added that he loves the character very much and that he was grateful for getting to work with the other incredible actors, director, Marvel and Sony. He saw it as closure, and was also proud that they were able to help Holland complete his trilogy without causing any distractions.

Andrew also shared some filming moments. He said it was hilarious when they were all suited up together, and got to do the “pointing thing” (referring to the iconic Spider-Man pointing meme). He recalled Tom Holland being jealous that he had little zippers in his suit. He also said that saying “I love you guys” to his co-stars was completely his idea.

A possible return

Spider-Man

We are currently living in an Andrew Garfield renaissance period, and many fans want him to return as Spider-Man in his own universe. Andrew also gave his opinion on the matter, saying he is definitely open to something if it felt right. But he reinstated that he will need to feel very sure and certain in himself.

Let’s hope Andrew Garfield’s Peter returns. His Peter is just as terrific as the others’.
