Adele got the full Adele Experience this time
Quite a lot of onions were chopped during Adele‘s most recent performance, and I’m not talking about her songs.
The singer had an emotional and happy reunion with her old English teacher on stage during a special ITV concert at the London Palladium.
An Audience With Adele
An Audience With Adele was a truly special show for the singer, as she not only got to perform in front of an audience that loved her, she could also perform for some major Hollywood stars. The event was recorded earlier this month, and had the Grammy winner performing songs from her new album 30, along with her classics. In between her performances, she also received questions from the audience.
It began with Dame Emma Thompson asking her who inspired her in life. The 33-year-old responded by saying that it was her old high-school teacher Ms McDonald. Despite getting to spend only a year with her, she helped Adele develop a bigger interest for literature. She also recalled, saying Ms. McDonald used to do street dance with other children, but she was too scared to join. But she used to watch them perform in the canteen. She then talked about her gold bracelets and gold rings, and was “so bloody cool” altogether.
The reunion
Thompson promptly invited Ms. McDonald to stage as soon as Adele was done talking, and the singer burst into tears as soon as she saw her teacher. She even asked her mom sitting in the audience and asked if she can believe this is happening. Ms. McDonald said that she quit teaching to look after her kids, who had accompanied her to the concert.
Before leaving, she asked for Ms. McDonald’s number, so that there can be many such happy reunions in the future.
