Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat, and Megan Thee Stallion among the winners at American Music Awards 2021!
BTS couldn’t have asked for a better American Music Awards comeback. They won three awards during the prestigious awards function this Sunday.
The South Korean boy band had two performances lined up – “My Universe” with Coldplay, and their award-winning song “Butter” at American Music Awards 2021.

BTS won for every category they were nominated in – Favourite pop duo or group, favourite pop song, and the coveted artist of the year award. RM, who accepted the best artist award nervously recalled the time they first performed at the AMAs. It was four years ago, and they performed their hit at that time, “DNA.” He added that they were all nervous and excited at that time but never imagined that they will ever return, and that too, win in every category they were nominated in.
He also thanked the ARMY for the love and support that came from all over the world for the seven of them.
Taylor Swift’s achievement
Some awards were announced before the televised recording was shown, and had Taylor Swift breaking her own record for most number of AMA wins. She won for her pop album “Evermore” and favourite female pop artist for the seventh time, among other wins at American Music Awards 2021. She currently has 34 trophies from all the wins she accumulated this year and previous years.
Special mentions should be given for Olivia Rodrigo, Megan Thee Stallion, and Doja Cat. Rodrigo had the 7 nominations, which was the most, and won New Artist of the Year. Megan Thee Stallion won for Favorite Trending Song with ‘Body,’Female Hip-Hop Artist and Hip Hop Album of the Year for ‘Good News.’ Doja Cat won Collaboration of the Year for ‘Kiss Me More’ with SZA, and Favorite Female R&B Artist and R&B Album for ‘Planet Her’.
American Music Awards 2021 was a star-studded event to honour the global music sensations.
