Their budding romance that ends in tragedy has been teased in the new trailer

The trailer for season 4 of The Crown is finally out and we got to see snippets of Prince Charles (played by Josh O’Connor) and Princess Diana’s (Emma Corrin) doomed marriage. The critically acclaimed Netflix Original British drama is making its return with the latest season after a hiatus of almost one year. This time, one of the aspects of the story will be on Lady Diana Spencer’s entry into the royal family and many changes she brought along with it. We will also be getting to see her troubled relationship with Charles which ultimately led to their divorce.

Cast and Plot

Netflix

The main cast members from the previous seasons will be returning, including Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth, Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Ben Daniels as her husband Antony Armstrong-Jones, known better as Lord Snowdon.

The show will be focusing on the younger family members as it progresses, as shown in the trailer. Princess Diana and Prince Charles seems to be the highlight of the season. Their wedding in 1981 was greatly anticipated, and was watched by over 750 million people around the world.

Before releasing the trailer, Netflix also showed some promotional stills of the new characters where we got to see Corrin’s Diana, along with the UK’s first woman Prime Minister, the iron lady Margaret Thatcher, played by Gillian Anderson. We get to see the romance develop and worsen in the trailer, and see a downcast-looking princess Diana and a serious talk between Prince Philip and the Queen. The show has shown in the past that it doesn’t pull any punches with what they show, and we can expect the upcoming season to be following the same pattern.
