VANNA WHITE, best known for her position in the big WHEEL OF FORTUNE board, has taken the spotlight by hosting the show for the first time in 37 years.
Vanna was tapped in as a replacement to the long-time host PAT SAJAK as she had to undergo emergency surgery to correct her intestine blockage in early November. The show production was stopped for a day but was resumed when White took the responsibility of the host.

“I’ve never even thought of that in 37 years”, Vanna White said about hosting the show in an interview with The New York Times last week. She expressed her nervousness and said she was totally surprised.
White added that she was “excited and nervous” about being the host; since her position was always on the board, rather a silent one. However, when the issue of picking a host came up, White was an obvious choice due to her presence in the show for almost FOUR DECADES. While White was at the show for three weeks– which was filming Disney-themed-episodes, for the final week, the show had a special guest who will be revealed when they take their place at the board on the first episode of the week.
Fan’s reactions to the first episode with White as the host were quite mixed. Many praised the stalwart for coming to the rescue when she had to and aptly defended her against critics.
