WEi’s Kim Yo Han Tests Positive for COVID-19, His Upcoming Drama’s Premiere Gets Postponed by a Week

WEi’s Kim Yo Han, who is going to appear next in KBS’s School 2021 has tested positive for COVID-19. His agency OUI Entertainment revealed the news on November 14, and said that the other members have also been tested and are currently awaiting results.

It is important to know that while he is indeed positive, Kim Yo Han is asymptomatic. On November 13, the 22-year-old underwent a PCR test after a supporting actor he had worked with in the drama tested positive for COVID-19. The other cast and crew members also got tested and are negative.

Meanwhile the other WEi members, Jang Dae Hyun, Kang Seok Hwa, Kim Jun Seo, Yoo Yong Ha, and Kim Dong Han have all gone into quarantine. OUI announced that all of the band’s scheduled activities during this self-quarantine period will be cancelled or postponed, and requested fans and related personnel for their understanding.

They added that an update will be give as soon as they’re all ready to perform.

The production team’s statement

The production team talked about all the cast members undergoing testing, and that Kim Yo Han tested positive. They added that the actor and the supporting actor who tested first had received their second dose over two weeks ago. They promised to conduct PCR tests regularly to prevent further spread.

As a result, the premiere and press conferences were pushed by a week to November 24.

The drama has Kim Yo Han starring alongside Cho Yi Hyun, Chu Young Woo, and Hwang Bo Reum Byul, and is part of the long-running School franchise, which discusses different students as they navigate high school and personal relationships.
