It’s clear that Diesel is pulling out all the stops
Everyone familiar with the Fast & Furious franchise are aware of the beef between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. The two had butted heads on numerous occasions, and have reached a mutual standstill.
However, Vin Diesel seems to be waving a white flag as he currently wants his former co-star to join him on the tenth instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise.
Vin’s post
Alongside a still of the two actors from Fast Five, Diesel wrote, “My little brother Dwayne…the time has come.” He went on to say that the world waits for Fast 10, and how his children refer to him as Uncle Dwayne, and that Dwayne had sent them well wishes on every holiday. He ended by saying that “legacy awaits.” He also brought up the dearly departed Paul Walker, aka, Pablo, and the promise he made to him, saying that the tenth movie will be best finale ever.
But Vin Diesel is aware that Johnson’s character Hobbs must be return to make the movie even bigger. He added a little pressure to the post, saying that Hobbs cannot be played by anyone else, and that he shouldn’t leave the franchise hanging.
Why the publicity?
It still begs the question why Vin Diesel made such a public request for Johnson’s return. This is because Johnson had said back in July that he has no interest in returning to the franchise. He said that he wished them the best on all future installments, but they have to be done without him.
A reason why Johnson wants to stay away is of course, because of his feud with Diesel. Things have been sour for years, and came to a boiling point after 2016’s The Fate of the Furious. Johnson even made an Instagram post where he referred to some of his male co-stars as “candy asses.”
Johnson hasn’t responded to the post yet, but we will wait patiently to see if Diesel’s familia-style proposal succeeded.
