Neve Campbell won’t be returning to the franchise
Neve Campbell, who played the franchise’s central character, Sidney Prescott, won’t be coming back. She won’t participate in the first Scream film. As per Variety, Campbell claimed in June this year that she had turned down the franchise’s invitation to repeat her part because she was dissatisfied with it.
The very first instalment of the “Scream” franchise came out in 1996. The very first four movies in the series were directed by Wes Craven, but Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett took charge of the fifth, which was announced this year, and therefore will come back for the sixth. The thriller “Scream 6″ will premiere on March 10, 2023.
