The series is based on a true event as stated by the lead Nathan Fillion during an interview, which is a story of a man who got divorced from his wife at the age of 45 due to uncontrollable disputed between the two, who found keen interest in helping the officers in a case of bank robbery.

He soon got inspired, motivated and diverges his career to a police officer and decided to move to Los Angeles to be an officer in Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). After completing his graduation, he must face a lot of unsolved mysteries related to the job and find a way to stand the best out of it.
