The road is long
HBO has finally unveiled the highly anticipated TV adaptation of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us, one of the best story-driven games in the last decade. The events take place in a post-apocalyptic world where a mysterious disease has transformed people into mindless beings known as clickers, akin to zombies. Let’s take a look at the trailer.
The Last of Us Trailer Events
The trailer for The Last of Us starts with Joel (Pedro Pascal), a middle-aged man working as a delivery specialist in a world where humanity almost got wiped out by a deadly virus. Same as the game, the series will see Joel getting tasked to escort Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a girl who is immune to the virus. They need to reach a research facility in a different end of the United States, where Ellie’s blood can be studied. Along the journey, the duo will have to navigate different forms of the infected, and meet with other groups of survivors, in a world where people can do whatever they can to ensure their own survival.
The thing that sets The Last of Us apart from all the zombies and the horror is the truly heartfelt story that runs through them. It won the hearts of millions of fans around the world, and everyone watched with interest how Joel and Ellie form an unbreakable bond. It also looks like HBO has perfectly recreated some sets from the game.
