The Continental: Amazon Prime Video Bags the International Rights for the Highly Awaited premiere

The Continental will be available on Prime Video in 2023

John Wick prequel series The Continental, which is scheduled to release in 2023, will now also be streaming on Amazon Prime Video in all the territories except for Israel and the Middle East due to unavailability of Amazon’s streaming service in the mentioned areas. The series is reported launch on Peacock in U.S. It first moved from Starz to the NBCU streamer this year.

The Lionsgate Television produced series is a three-part series with full of action and entertainment. 

Plot:

The series is based on story of Continental Hotel which is the main center of John Wick Universe. The hotel also serves as a refuge for assassins. From the view of the hotel manager, portrayed by Ian McShane in the film franchise – a young Winston Scott, played by Colin Woodell.

The hotel manager has some wild sides as he tries to seize the hotel. Being an underworld from the  ‘70’s New York, he is going to fight with every possible difficulty to his path along with the deep past he will be tackling with. The hotel happens to be the meeting spot of the world’s most dangerous criminal.

Besides Ian Mcshame, the cast also includes some interesting characters like Ayomide Adegun as Woodell, who is going to be the young Charon, Peter Greene who is playing the role of Uncle Charlie, most beloved Mel Gibson as Cormac, Ben Robson as Frankie, Hubert Point-Du Jour as Miles, Jessica Allain as Lou, Mishel Prada as KD and Nhung Kate as Yen.

Chris Mansolillo’s views

With big hopes for the success of the series, director Chris Mansolillo appreciated The John Wick films, by calling it the creation of most immersive, detailed and enjoyable universes which are barely seen.

In addition to that, he also shared happiness for playing a part in continuing to build that universe offering viewers an insight into the origins of the infamous Continental Hotel and its incredible characters.

The series is being written by Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward with being executive producers on The Continental. Other executive producers include Albert Hughes, Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, Chad Stahelski, Derek Kolstad, David Leitch, Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, and Marshall Persinger. Shawn Simmons serves as a writer and executive producer.
