After five years, Taylor Swift returns to The Voice again as a Mega Mentor

Good news ahead for pop star Taylor Swift’s fans. Swift will rejoin this coming season of the NBC show The Voice as a mega mentor. The makers of the show broke the news this Monday through a post on their official Instagram handle. Taylor Swift will join the show and help mentor the seventeen contestants along with the current line up coaches- Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Blake Shelton.

The makers of The Voice announced the news by posting a teaser on their official Instagram handle. The video featured current coaches, John Legend and Blake Shelton. In the video, both Legend and Shelton are seen wondering who the mega mentor will be when Taylor Swift walks in.

In the teaser, Legend says, “I think the person’s one of the most successful people in music” prompting Shelton. To this Shelton humorously answers, “Yeah, but I can’t be because I’m a coach”. At this point, Taylor Swift walks out of the trailer, just casually greets Shelton and Legend and goes away. It is when Swift has left that Legend and Shelton can put the puzzle together.

Swift had earlier also been a mega mentor at The Voice. In 2014, during the show’s seventh season Swift had mentored the contestants. This season also, like the earlier one, Taylor will train the contestants for the Knockout Rounds which will air from late October onwards.

The show is all set to return soon from the 23rd of September. Last time, Swift had appeared on The Voice this May to perform her single Me with Panic! at the Disco’s Brendon Urie in the finale of the sixteenth season of The Voice.
