Taylor Swift Performs 10 Minute Version of ‘All Too Well’ in her Exciting SNL Appearance

November is Taylor’s month

This week’s Saturday Night Live had a surprise musical guest, and it was Taylor Swift!

Taylor Swift appeared in season 47, episode 6 of the widely popular show, which had Lovecraft Country star Jonathan Majors as the host. This will mark the singer’s fifth appearance as the show’s musical guest. She appeared during Majors’ monologue, alongside Bowen Yang and Aidy Bryant as well. But of course, the highlight is her performance of ‘All Too Well’ from Red (Taylor’s Version).4

Taylor mesmerized the audience with the 10-minute version of the 2012 track, which she re-recorded from her catalogue. Normally, musical guests perform two songs on the show, but Taylor performed this one song and it sure packed an emotional punch.

The short film which Taylor wrote and directed played in the background, starring Dylan O’Brien and Sadie Sink. While she delivered the powerful ballad, fake snow cascaded from above, matching the visuals playing below.

The 13-minute short film featured many symbolizing visuals of one of Swift’s own heart-breaking relationships – the one which many believe was with actor Jake Gyllenhaal. It stars with an infamous scarf which was rumoured to be left in a drawer at Maggie Gyllenhaal’s home, and a dance between Dylan and Sadie in the kitchen’s refrigerator light.

We see plenty of small clues and savage, yet sad verses in the song. The video ends with a 13-year time skip where Taylor herself appeared as the grown-up Sink and hosts a book reading. The colour red is shown throughout the video, like Sink’s hair, her scarf, the occasional lighting, and her typewriter.
