Sony Believed to be Actively Developing new Miles Morales Film for its Spider-Man Universe

All roads lead to Miles

Spider-Man might be reaching the end of the first big chapter in his story arc with No Way Home. In fact, Tom Holland even said so in interviews that he’s ready to show the next Spider-Man actor the ropes.

But it looks like Sony might be looking for the next person to don the Spider suit, Miles Morales.

With the Spider-Verse introduced in the MCU, it is expected that Miles Morales also join in on the fun. The new scoop about Sony developing a Miles Morales movie comes from Daniel Richtman, who posted the information on his Patreon. In fact, we got a nod to Miles in Spider-Man: Homecoming when Donald Glover starred as Miles’s uncle Aaron Davis. In fact, he even mentioned his nephew in the movie.

Miles was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, and has already made big steps in the comic, animation, and gaming world. He was introduced to comic fans in 2011’s Ultimate Fallout #4. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse had him as the lead character, and was one of the best animated films in recent times. Miles appeared yet again in 2018’s Spider-Man PS4, and it’s sequel, 2020’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

There are rumours that Spider-Man will go back to having standalone movies separate from the MCU after No Way Home. After all, Sony has been slowly building their own Spider-Man franchise, and already has two Venom films and Morbius on the way. Next, they are developing a Kraven the Hunter film, a project directed by Olivia Wilde which is rumoured to be Spider-Woman, and a Silk tv series.

With all that happening, it will only be a matter until Miles gets announced. In fact, he might even be announced at the end of No Way Home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives Dec. 17 in theatres.
