Snowdrop takes place against the backdrop of the 1987 Democracy Movement, the famous protests that took place to force the then-current authoritarian South Korean government to conduct fair elections.

Jung Hae-in plays a graduate student who had taken part in a pro-democracy protest, but got injured. He was discovered, covered in blood, by a female university student called Eun Young-ro (Jisoo). She takes him to her all-women university and treats his wounds. In the process, the two begin a romantic relationship, until secrets start coming out that Soo-ho is not who he appears to be.

Jung Hae-in said that this had been his most challenging role so far. Due to that, he relied even more on the director, Jisoo, and every other crew member. However, he is still very nervous on the show’s release.

Jisoo, on the other hand said that her bandmates proved to be her strength while the shoot was on. This is her first lead role after all, so it’s natural to be a bundle of nerves as the premier day approaches. But the BLACKPINK members promised her that they will be watching it when it airs, and continuously motivated her. But she joked later that she will probably watch it alone when it premiered, and may end up covering her eyes and looking through the gaps.

Snowdrop will premiere on December 18, at 10:30 pm KST.
