In anticipation of the new Game Of Thrones spin-off, House Of The Dragon comes roaring onto screens this August. HBO has released an official trailer which features plenty of dragons and political turmoil among Targaryens as they fight for power in Westeros centuries before events take place on TV show bible George R Martin’s ‘Fire And Blood’.
Based off his books/novels (I haven’t read them yet) it tells about how there was a noble house that existed way back when -the first ones known to man according some traditions at least-, but alas all knowledge is lost save one thing: They’re coming again next month!
The trailer offers a glimpse into the volatile world of Westeros where King Viserys (Paddy Considine) sits on his Iron Throne in King’s Landing.
He has two children, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen who he believes will be next heir to throne but there is also Prince Daemon whose mother was executed by father before he died so may not want anything too close with family especially since its been a while since anyone ruling over them
When considering Dae’mon’s possible involvement here though we see some people cheering for him even though most don’t know what kind- natured person this really could end up being.
Then there are the Hightowers, Otto (Rhys Ifans) who is Hand of the King, and his daughter Alicent (Olivia Cooke), who makes a play for the Throne by wooing the King. “I consider the matter urgent, that of your succession,” Otto tells King Viserys, raising awareness over the issue.
Stars Considine, Smith, Cooke, D’Arcy, Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, and Sonoya Mizuno are at the core of the series. Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jefferson Hall, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, and Savannah Steyn are among the other cast members.
