Originally called Subject 89P13, Rocket is a genetically enhanced creature who went around the galaxy bounty hunting with his friend and partner in crime Groot. One such expedition led him to crossing paths with Peter Quill, aka, Star-Lord, who hatched a plan to sell off an Orb, which they later realized contained the infinity stone of Power.
Adventures with the Guardians of The Galaxy and Avengers
Rocket met and formed an alliance with the rest of his teammates while imprisoned in a Xandarian prison. After busting out, the gang went off to get their bounty. But before they were able to do so, the stone was taken by Ronan the Accuser, who needed the stone to destroy Xandar. Rocket and the rest of the guardians joined the Nova Corps and managed to kill Ronan and get the stone. They left it with the Nova Corps and went on bounty hunting around the galaxy.
After four years, they picked up Thor, who was floating on space. They got to know from Thor that Thanos had started collecting the stones on his own and had already decimated Xandar and the people on it. Rocket and Groot accompanied Thor to Nidavellir to forge Thor’s new weapon, the Stormbreaker, which was the only thing that would be able to defeat Thanos.
Afterward, they summoned the Bifrost with the Stormbreaker and teleported to Wakanda, where Black Panther, Captain America, and many others were facing off against Thanos’ army. But their efforts were in vain as Thanos got all the stones and snapped, wiping out half the population. The Rocket had the only Nebula left from his team, and he joined the Avengers.
In the next five years, he helped the others, and in the final battle, they were able to win, and he got his friends back. Thor joins them, and together, they went off for more space adventures.
