On January 7th, The CW announced the renewals of thirteen of its shows, which also included Riverdale. The news of the renewals did not show the release date of the season. However, it is expected that the show will follow the same pattern and will air in the later months of the year, possibly October or November.

The fourth season of the series is filled with flash-forwards which are a couple of months ahead of the present storyline. The plotline indicates that Jughead is dead and was killed by someone. They also suggest that Betty was the one who killed Jughead with a rock. The show has not completely disclosed what actually happened but fans are worried about the fate of their beloved Jughead.
