The two sparked rumours when they joined a mutual friend’s livestream in March this year
Rihanna and Drake had some flirty exchanges during DJ Spade’s Instagram livestream in March. The duo were both pretty active during the whole livestream which also had a DJ Battle with Night Owl Sound. Rihanna was on Spade’s side as both had hailed from the Caribbeans and Drake chose to side with Night Owl, and the two teams had some friendly wisecracks and banter between them.

Drake started off by saying, “Rih rih u can’t buy your dj a one Sonos speaker or something”among other things. Drake continued to make friendly digs at his ex girlfriend about her Fenty Beauty business and her fanbase known as the Navy.
Rihanna later said that she’s going to send Night Owl a “lil care package for their pain and suffering” to which Drake called her out on her “bad attitude.” The two went back and forth like this a few times.
The couple had been in the news many times over the years for their relationship as friends, then lovers, then exes. At the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, Drake was to present Rihanna with an award and he proudly declared that he had been in love with her since he was 22 years old, but Rihanna later revealed that she was uncomfortable during the whole speech.
In 2018, Rihanna, when asked about her relationship with Drake told Vogue that they neither have a friendship nor are they enemies. The banter we witnessed might just be something friends do when meeting after a long time and it’s too soon to speculate whether the two are dating. They haven’t made any reports since, after all.
